Bahia is the place where all the big mestres learned capoeira before going away to teach capoeira outside Bahia, in the rest of Brazil, in Europe, in US, Canada, even in Asia. There are still a lot of amazing mestres that have never left Bahia and they are sending the capoeira message out through their students who have themselves become mestres, and also through capoeira tourists that are coming to Bahia.
